ZOOM0002.WAV  D:  So a few years ago[02:44:28.05], I went to this summer camp where we experimented making movies, it was more of a beginners' thing[02:44:34.16].  So, this took place at some college, can't remember where it was.  So, we grouped up in, we were in groups of four and there were about three groups and we just went..  we did the filmmaking experience from the beginning so we wrote the script, then we filmed it then we edited it afterwards.[02:44:55.16]  and then we all shared what we did with the rest of us.  So the movie that we did, it was, I was the main star and it was about me standing up to a group of bullies.  [02:45:16.02]  I know, ... So I wouldn't say that this experience, uhh, I wouldn't say this shaped my worldview from that point, but it gave me an appreciation for the work that goes into making certain media.  [02:45:38.15]  I kinda developed an interest in filmmaking.  I knew I definitely did not want to be an actor because I found out that I have only one facial expression.  [02:45:49.13]  Uh, But I really enjoyed the process of editing in particular, cause there's even when I felt sick of it..  Like I would be sick of this and I don't want to edit anymorebut at the end it still felt like it was My personal thing that I made and I was proud of it in the end.  [02:46:12.20]  ...[02:47:02.22]...just the whole collaborative nature of it, it's like theres a bunch of moving pieces that come from everyone and it all fits together and makes just one singular project.  And that's everyone's ..  thats the work that everyone put into it.[02:47:23.00]  Me: could you name a movie you love and tell me what you like about it?  D:  My favorite movie is Inception, cause I love the especially the storytelling aspect of it, like I didn't get all of it at first, but on subsequent viewings I did and I was thinking "how did I not get this at first?"  And, just the way, uh, with movies in particular, that entire medium it's about storytelling but not just that it's also about how it's enhanced by visuals and sound design and acting and stuff like that.  [02:48:05.04]

ZOOM0004.WAV  [02:57:34.18]  D:  five years from now, regardless of where I am going to be I hope I am doing something that I love even if I am not getting paid for it.  [02:57:42.09]

ZOOM0005.WAV  [02:58:22.26]  Me:  Can you tell me about how you didnt know what you wanted to do when you grew up?  [02:58:30.09]  D:  So my idea for a career shifted[02:58:29.28]  so many times when i was growing up, and I would argue that it might still be shifting today.  Cause, when I was a kid, I knew I wanted to be an astronaut.  [02:58:38.10]  And when I was middle, high school, I knew I wanted to do something in math, like statistics or something and I knew I wanted to be a phycisist.  [02:58:48.18]  And, so it's ...it's really hard to know what you want to do when you grow up, because sometimes you have no idea what jobs are going to be like...  when you're really young.  [02:59:03.10]  So, you just don't have the context ..  you don't know if 10 years from now, you go, "oh I really hate my job" even though I thought I would like it when I was younger.  [02:59:18.28]
